We’re Moving…

Hi Everyone!

We’re moving across country, from California to Tennessee.  I’m so excited, and it will be quite hectic for at least the next month and a half. The new house (which is a really old house… more on that below) won’t be ready for us to move in until September 1st.

The plan is to leave Los Angeles July 31st and take about a week to travel to Tennessee. It will be me, Billy, our 2 French Bulldogs (Sophie & Duke), our Cockatiel (Sunny), and our 2 small African Frogs (sure, call me crazy, but I love these frogs, and they sing!!). Seriously, the frogs sing/croak at night.  Needless to say, it will be crowded in our VW bug. Just kidding! We will be traveling in a Ford Escape ~ as we escape from L.A.  Oh, did I mention we will be pulling a small Uhaul?

We’re kind of like the opposite of the Beverly Hillbillies. Ha! Ha! It’s going to be a fun, exciting road trip. Along the way we will be making some great food stops and the plan is to be snapping pics and blogging as I can. With all our animals in tow it may be more like Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives! But it will be like you’re all coming along for the ride (well, kinda).

I also plan to schedule some automatic posts for while we’re on the road. I have so many food pictures that I haven’t blogged about yet, so I hope that will keep my foodie friends happy while we’re on our new adventure.

And here’s the house we’re moving to in Tennessee! It was built in 1829. I love the house, it’s wonderful ~ and huge, over 5000 square feet!

The property is just amazing. We will have about 25 acres, with a gorgeous river. We can fish right in our own back yard. I love to fish, and you know I’ll be cooking that up!!

The plan is to have a huge veggie garden, and lots of fruit trees. Oh, and chickens! Yay ~ fresh eggs!

This time next year I will be posting about the fresh veggies from our own garden. It’s really a dream come true for us!

Hope you stay tuned… ’cause I can guarantee that there will be some surprises along the way!  😉

Helena: This is going to be quite a change in location for you. How close are you to Nashville? The new house and surroundings are beautiful. Have a wonderful trip and take care…

    • Hi Susan! I miss you girl!! We’re about 40 minutes south of Nashville. I sure hope you come visit ~ we’ve got plenty of room. xoxo

You’ll love Tennessee! I moved to east Tennessee to go to college a million years ago from Maine and stayed there until my kids were grown. My ex is from middle Tennessee so I’ve spent a lot of time there. People are so friendly – you’ll be happy from the day you plant your feet on home soil. :) Good luck!

Whew..this post popped up on my FB feed today and I thought you were leaving again!!!! SO glad to see the dates. Hope your friends have the corrected address since you didn’t end up at The Corners after all.

    • Oh, hahahaha…. I guess I didn’t realize that post would be automatically generated. I’ve gotta fix that. Thanks! We’re not moving. :)
