We’ve been going through a kitchen remodel for the past few weeks and I haven’t been posting food pics. However, I just had to share this deliciousness with you.
I made this using the microwave and the toaster oven. We enjoyed it with some traditional English Whole Wheat crackers. The combination of the warm cheese, sweet nutty topping, and the crumbly wheat cracker was beyond divine. It was so good I can’t wait to make it for my family when they visit for Thanksgiving. 😉
INGREDIENTS
1 Brie round
1/4 cup Walnuts (or Pecans)
1/4 cup Brown Sugar, packed
2 Tbsp Bourbon
Crackers of choice
METHOD
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Place the round of Brie cheese on an oven-proof dish and bake in the oven for about 7 minutes, or until cheese is soft.
While the Brie is baking, place the nuts, sugar and bourbon in a microwave safe bowl.
Microwave for about 4 minutes on high, until sugar is melted and mixture is bubbly.
Remove Brie from oven and p0ur the nut mixture on top of the cheese round.
Serve immediately with the crackers of your choice.
Ya know, you just can’t beat this for good eating! So simple and easy and so addictive! Love the bourbon in it! xo Ally
It’s totally addictive. I could have eaten the entire thing myself… fortunately, my husband saved me by eating half! lol
I love something sweet with cheese and usually have some quince paste or something similar but this is even better!
I adore brie cheese, can’t wait to try this!
Quick question – thinking of making this as one of the appetizers for my Christmas party, how many people do you think this would provide for? I will have roughly 15 people and two other starters. Thank you!
Hi Erin ~ I think this Brie is a good size for about 6 to 8 people. You can buy the bigger wheel of Brie and double the recipe. Over the holidays I bought a big wheel of Brie that had the center indented a little. I heated the Brie up in the oven and then just put some whole cranberry sauce in it, topped with some toasted pecans. Everyone loved it and the really big round makes a nice presentation. Thanks for reading my blog and I hope you have a Happy Holiday Season!
Made this and it was so yummy! I just recently discovered that I love Brie and the yummy goodness of the topping was great just added to the flavor. (I used pecans). Another recipe I can add to my “going to make this again” book.
Hi Lisa – So glad you liked it! I love brie and the topping just makes it even better.
