My daughter made this cake for my birthday, in November, it is the best cake I’ve ever had! I have made it twice since! For my bible study girls ( they also loved it!) And now for my sons birthday. My husband makes fresh raspberry jelly from our berry patch so that is what I use for my filling, it’s Devine! Thank you, thank you so much for your wonderful cake recipe ?

I made this cake about 3 weeks ago and it is divine, really makes a large cake. I froze some of it and was just as good

Hi Caron! Yes, the buttermilk and vanilla go into the batter. I see what you mean about the directions being confusing. Thanks for bringing that to my attention. I fixed it and hopefully it’ll be easier for others in the future. I hope the caked turned out good, in spite of my directions!

You list buttermilk and vanilla in the cake ingredients but then don’t mention them in the directions. I sure hope that they go into the batter because that’s where I put them. Then you say add the eggs and cream until creamy. Maybe use another verb as I thought that there was cream to be added also.
I found your directions confusing.
